Texas School Administrator & Principal Certification

The McNeil Educational Foundation’s Texas Principal Certification Program was created and gained the State of Texas approval in May of 2002.

Our faculty of high-achieving principals, principal supervisors, educational leadership professors, played a role in the gaining of multiple commendations during our 5 Year Review from the Texas Education Agency. Proudly, hundreds of successful McNeil graduates are currently working as school administrators in school districts, charter schools, and universities around the world.

The 21st Century Leadership Principal Preparation Program aims to provide a realistic and meaningful practicum experience for aspiring school administrators who possess a Master’s degree, with an emphasis in Educational Leadership and/or Counseling; and, who have yet to participate in a comprehensive school administrative internship focusing on the Texas principal certification requirements.

Academic Year 2017-2018 Offers the following Rotation Schedules:

Rotation A: August 5, 2017 - November 11, 2017
Registration Deadline: June 21, 2017
Late Registration Deadline: July 28, 2017
Rotation B: December 9, 2017 - March 31, 2018
Registration Deadline: October 25, 2017
Late Registration Deadline: November 1, 2017
Rotation C: April 14, 2018 - July 21, 2018
Registation Deadline: February 21, 2018
Late Registration Deadline: March 1, 2018

The McNeil Foundation 21st Century Leadership Program Admission requirements are as follows:

• Completed 21st Century Leadership Principal Certification Program Application. Apply Online now with the form below!

• Official Service Record from the applicant’s school district(s) showing three or more years of classroom teaching experience from an accredited public, charter, or private school.

• Sealed transcript showing the date that at least a master’s degree from an accredited college or university has been conferred. *The transcript should be mailed directly to the Program’s -Admissions/Certification Office arriving in a sealed College or University envelope. • Copies of all certifications held by the applicant from the State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC) website; or, equivalent verification for out-of-state certifications *A current teaching certificate is required.

Upon the submission of online application prospective students must submit:

• Acknowledgement receipt of the McNeil Educational Foundation’s Policies and Procedures from the McNeil Handbook. (Last page)

• Total cost of tuition: $5,500

• All applications should be completed online or downloaded and forwarded (with the appropriate documentation and non-refundable application fee) to the following address:

Final selection and enrollment into the 21st Century Leadership Principal Preparation Program is based on satisfactorily meeting each of the eligibility/admissions requirements, cumulative scores from faculty interview and handwritten writing sample, along with a receipt of a Letter of Acceptance from the Program.

Pre-Registration allows students to have more payments at a lower cost making obtaining a certification more financially obtainable than other schools. To Pre-Register:
1.) Submit this application well in advance of the posted Registration Deadline.
2.) Be sure to submit the application with the "PRE-REGISTRATION APPLICANT" Payment Option.
3.)Upon acceptance additional payment installments options at a lower cost will be offered and arranged for the applicant based on the amount of available time before the selected rotation semester begins.
